Project

New Communication Styles for Better Forest Management

Themes

Co-management, Learning Organizations and Adaptive Management, Orality and Literacy, Negotiating Local Knowledge, Community Forestry

Interests

My research interest is to develop understanding of how forest management dependency on a technology of literacy can diminish systemic and democratic conversation at the field forestry level. The PhD project will examine various ways that indigenous and non-indigenous forest managers can lessen their dependency on literacy while maintaining power in negotiating local knowledge and forest comanagement agreements.
