Projects
  • Cross-national comparisons of sustainable forest management systems adopting selection systems.
  • Interdisciplinary and multi-scale evaluation of community forestry as socio-ecological system.
  • Sustainability of selective logging and plantations in Tropical Asia.
Themes

sustainable forest management, socio-ecological system, silvicultural systems, selection system, Interdisciplinary evaluation, REDD+, community forestry, plantation, tropical forestry

Interests

I am interested in interdisciplinary and multi-scale evaluations of sustainable forestry as socio-ecological system in various countries. The current study sites are conifer plantations in Japan, selectively logged natural forests and protected areas in Cambodia and Myanmar, rubber plantations in Cambodia, community forestry sites in Cambodia, group and strip selection forests in Canada and Japan. The approaches are through forest inventory, household survey, remote sensing & GIS from various spatial and temporal scales.
